Designer of the Telephone Box

I hope no question master was strict enough to insist on a first name in the answer to this question – because I for one can never remember which Gilbert Scott did what.

(Also because it wasn't asked for in the question, which it should be if the setter wants a first name to be given.)

Giles Gilbert Scott's father and grandfather were respectively George Gilbert Scott Junior and Senior. None of George Junior's designs can really be said to be national landmarks, but George Senior's works included the Albert Memorial and the Midland Grand Hotel at St Pancras Station. As well as the telephone box, Giles Gilbert Scott designed Liverpool's Anglican cathedral and Battersea Power Station.
